FUMESCANS – Konami is celebrating four decades of Castlevania with several activities aimed at both longtime followers and newcomers. The anniversary campaign includes a free mobile version of the original game, a large collection of the franchise's music, a worldwide orchestral event, and the arrival of a brand-new entry later this year.

The anniversary promotion gives players an opportunity to experience the original Castlevania without purchasing it. The NES version has been released as a free mobile app for both iOS and Android, with the offer running from September 25 until October 24, 2026. Players who obtain the game during the promotional period can continue playing it afterward.

The mobile release is designed as a direct port of the classic title. Instead of requiring a physical controller, players can use on-screen controls adapted for smartphones. The game also does not require an always-online connection, making the classic adventure accessible even when players are offline.

The game introduces Rose Belmont, a descendant of the legendary Belmont family. Set in Paris in 1499, the adventure sends her through monster-infested streets and Dracula's castle as she attempts to confront a new supernatural threat.
