FUME SCANS - Strange Scaffold has announced its latest Halloween-season release: a new horror game centered on organizing and cleaning, titled Something is Wrong with the Library.

The game is coming to PC in Fall 2026 and—unlike the previously released Librarian: Tidy of the Arcane Library—will not utilize generative AI. The first trailer is already available, and the Steam page is live.

In Something is Wrong with the Library, players enter the Alex Dieter Public Library and Reflection Center in the town of Sweet Elm.

Far from being a welcoming space, the facility hides a dark secret: its billionaire founder was actually a serial killer who murdered homeless people and entombed their bodies within the building's walls during construction.

Naturally, that trauma and terror have tainted the premises. Your task is to organize real-world books using the Dewey Decimal System while contending with in-game horrors, aiming to bring peace to the location and the trapped victims—and perhaps uncover some answers.

The announcement also confirms replayability, as different real-world books will appear and require sorting in each playthrough.

Here is the first trailer. While the atmosphere is tense, the video avoids major supernatural events or jump scares. However, we do hear the voice of Administrator Phillip Shed, who will offer guidance and direction as we organize the collection.
