Gachiakuta

With its first episode released in July 2025, Gachiakuta is a newcomer to the world of shōnen anime.

Sometimes compared to similar dark fantasy series like Jujutsu Kaisen, Gachiakuta follows the story of Rudo Surebrec after he is unjustly accused of murder and exiled to a horrific underground dumping ground teeming with Trash Monsters.

Rudo quickly encounters others in "the Ground"—known as Cleaners—who teach him everything they know about surviving in this bleak, barren wasteland.

Only one season has been released so far, but future seasons are on the way. With 173 manga chapters currently published—and the count still rising—there is plenty of source material available for adaptation.

Black Clover

One of the most anticipated releases in the Fall 2026 anime lineup is Black Clover Season 2. There was a gap of over five years between seasons, so fans are understandably thrilled that this fantasy series is finally returning to the screen.

The anime's protagonist, Asta, finds himself in a rather difficult situation. While almost everyone in his world can use magic, he possesses no such ability, making his life significantly more challenging. The characters in Black Clover are flawed yet compelling and evolve over time, and the battles are excellent.

Chainsaw Man

One of the most moving arcs in Chainsaw Man—the Reze arc—was recently adapted into a film: Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. This film stands out as one of the best and most artistic releases of 2025, featuring stunning animation by MAPPA and a tragic love story between the titular character and Denji.

While an official release date for Chainsaw Man Season 2 has not yet been announced—and the wait may be lengthy due to the time invested in the film—the season promises to be worth it, continuing the thrilling saga of the clash between Devils and Devil Hunters.

Dandadan

Dandadan has rapidly become one of the most popular modern shōnen anime series, acclaimed for its eerie supernatural enemies and the adorable romance between Okarun and Momo.

Science SARU’s exceptional animation brings the first two seasons of Dandadan to life with dynamic movement and vibrant colors, making the series a true joy to watch.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End concluded in March 2026, with a third season confirmed shortly thereafter.

The manga series is ongoing; however, due to health issues affecting writer Kanehito Yamada and illustrator Tsukasa Abe, the manga has been temporarily put on hiatus while they recover.

Currently, there are 147 chapters of the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End manga available to enjoy, with only a small fraction having been adapted so far. With the third season set to air in October 2027, there are more of Frieren's adventures to look forward to.
