FUME SCANS  - For fans of the absurd comedy anime disguised as a diving show, there is news today guaranteed to make you jump for joy! Without further ado, Grand Blue (also known as Grand Blue Dreaming) has officially announced that the diving club's wacky adventures will continue into a fourth season!

This massive announcement dropped right after the season three finale aired on Japanese television on September 21, 2026.

Along with this delightful news, the production team treated fans to a hilarious new teaser visual. It features the show's trio of dream girls—Chisa Kotegawa, Aina Yoshiwara, and the drama queen Sakurako Busujima—looking stunning in swimwear.

But wait—the funniest and most suspicious detail is right in the center: a photo of the protagonist, Iori Kitahara, with a knife stuck in it! This clearly signals that the romantic rivalry—which was already heating up at the end of season three—is set to explode into even more chaotic, head-spinning drama in the upcoming fourth season.

If you recall the series' history, fans had to wait over six years after Season 1 ended in 2018 before Season 2 finally made a splash. Remarkably, the adaptation pace has now shifted into high gear with no long hiatuses; Season 3, which aired from July 6 to September 21, 2026, was immediately greenlit for the next season.

Even better, there is no need to worry about a drop in humor or animation quality. Legendary comedy director Shinji Takamatsu remains at the helm, overseeing everything from direction and screenwriting to sound production.

The fantastic collaboration between studios ZERO-G and Liber has also been retained to handle the animation.

The visual style remains in the hands of the duo Hideoki Kusama and chief animation director Yoichi Ueda, complemented by Reiko Kasuga’s art direction and the brilliant musical arrangements of Yukari Hashimoto.

Your favorite top-tier voice actors (seiyuu) are also confirmed to return and fuel the chaos. You’ll once again hear the hilarious performances of Yuma Uchida as the perpetually unlucky Iori Kitahara, Ryohei Kimura as the hardcore otaku Kohei Imamura, and Chika Anzai as Chisa Kotegawa, who is always ready to deliver a lethal kick.

For those just diving in, this manga—created by the powerhouse duo of writer Kenji Inoue and illustrator Kimitake Yoshioka—first appeared in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014 and was even successfully adapted into a live-action film in August 2020.

The story centers on Iori’s college life in a coastal town; he initially hopes to enjoy a youth filled with romance at his uncle’s diving shop, but instead finds himself trapped in a whirlwind of "oolong tea" (wink, wink) and absurd, shirtless friendships!
