FUME OTN - The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Ikkado Ito's manga The Long Summer of August 31 (August 31 no Long Summer) announced on Monday that the manga is being adapted into a television anime by SHAFT, as well as a live-action series.

The account also revealed a teaser visual for the anime adaptation. Ito also drew an illustration to announce the adaptation:

Seven Seas Entertainment and Kodansha's K MANGA service publish the manga in print and digital formats, respectively. Seven Seas describes the story as follows:

Ito launched the manga in Kodansha's Morning magazine in 2023. Kodansha published the manga's 13th compiled volume on August 21. Seven Seas published the sixth volume in print on August 25.

Ito launched the manga I'm Not Meat: Get Your Filthy Paws Off Me! (Boku wa Oniku janai) in Shogakukan's Monthly Spirits magazine in July 2020.

Shogakukan published the manga's third and final compiled volume in December 2021. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga under its Ghost Ship imprint and published the third and final volume in English in May 2023.
