FUMESCANS – Netflix is preparing to reopen the doors of the Undervale Hotel as Haunted Hotel returns for its second season. The adult animated horror comedy has received a new trailer ahead of its October 9, 2026 premiere, offering a glimpse at even stranger supernatural problems waiting for Katherine and her unusual family.

The upcoming season will consist of eight episodes, each running for around 30 minutes. The new footage suggests that the hotel will become even harder to manage as ghosts, monsters and other unexplained entities continue to appear. Netflix has teased the arrival of new spirits, employees and threats that the characters have never encountered before.

At the center of the story remains Katherine Freeling, a single mother trying to keep the Undervale Hotel operating despite its unusual residents. Her household includes her brother Nathan, who exists as a ghost, as well as her children Ben and Esther. Adding another layer of absurdity is Abaddon, an ancient demon whose soul is trapped inside the body of a young boy.

The Season 2 trailer expands the show's supernatural roster with a variety of bizarre encounters. Among the creatures teased are witches, enormous monsters and a giant shark named Beluga. The footage also shows the characters dealing with dangerous situations that turn ordinary hotel problems into chaotic paranormal adventures.

Abaddon also receives plenty of attention in the new material. The demon remains one of the show's most unusual characters, while Katherine and the rest of the family continue trying to survive alongside supernatural beings that have effectively become part of their everyday lives.

The series was created by Matt Roller, whose previous writing credits include Rick and Morty, Community and Archer. Roller also serves as showrunner and executive producer, working alongside Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon and Steve Levy. Erica Hayes serves as supervising director, while Titmouse handles the animation.

The returning voice cast includes Will Forte as Nathan, Eliza Coupe as Katherine, Skyler Gisondo as Ben, Natalie Palamides as Esther and Jimmi Simpson as Abaddon. Their characters will once again have to balance family life, hotel management and a seemingly endless stream of paranormal disasters.

Haunted Hotel originally premiered in 2025 and follows Katherine after she inherits the Undervale Hotel from her late brother. Instead of receiving a normal property, she discovers a building filled with ghosts and supernatural residents. Netflix's official description classifies the series as adult animation, comedy and horror.

With its second season arriving just before Halloween, Haunted Hotel is bringing its combination of supernatural horror and adult comedy back to Netflix. All eight new episodes are scheduled to premiere on October 9, 2026.
