FUMESCANS – Fans of A Wild Last Boss Appeared! have received a fresh look at the upcoming second season through a newly released trailer. Alongside showcasing new scenes, the promotional video confirms that the sequel will arrive on streaming platforms before its regular Japanese television broadcast.

The second season will begin its early streaming run on September 26, 2026. ABEMA and U-NEXT will make the episodes available one week before the television premiere, which is scheduled to begin on October 3 in Japan.

The latest trailer also introduces several additions to the voice cast. Akio Otsuka has joined the production as Leon, while Atsushi Miyauchi will portray Sagittarius. Shuhei Sakaguchi has also been announced as the voice of Mercurius, adding three more characters to the expanding lineup.

Music will once again play an important role in the new season. The opening song, previously announced as “Melodic Impact,” is performed by Japanese rock band Suspended 4th. Meanwhile, the newly revealed ending theme, “Yurete Skirt,” comes from the four-member girls' rock group Chakura and receives a preview in the latest trailer.

The production team from the first season is also returning for the sequel. Yuya Horiuchi remains in the director's chair, while Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handles series composition. Maiko Ebisawa continues working on character designs, with several additional artists contributing to the visual development of the cast. WAO World remains responsible for the animation production.

The story centers on Lufas Maphaahl, a legendary figure feared as the Black-Winged Tyrant and the leader of the Twelve Heavenly Stars. Originally, Lufas was an overwhelmingly powerful character inside the MMO Exgate Online. However, a player eventually awakens in her body two centuries after her defeat, only to discover that the world that once existed as a game has become reality.

Lufas' return is far from a simple second chance. Her name remains associated with destruction, while the events surrounding her defeat have left dangerous consequences behind. As she searches for answers and potential allies, she must also deal with the monsters and chaos connected to her former reign.

The franchise originally began as a web novel written by Firehead on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2015 before receiving a print release from Earth Star Entertainment. A manga adaptation illustrated by Tsubasa Hazuki followed in 2017 and remains ongoing. Both the light novel and manga have also received English releases through J-Novel Club, with the franchise surpassing 1.7 million copies in circulation.

With its early streaming date, additional voice actors, and new ending song now confirmed, Season 2 is positioned to continue Lufas' journey with a larger cast and another round of fantasy battles. Viewers can catch the sequel through its September 26 streaming debut in Japan before the television rollout begins in October.
