FUMESCANS – The wait for Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 is almost over. The fantasy-comedy series is scheduled to return to Japanese television on October 7, 2026, with the sequel opening with an extended one-hour special. The premiere will air on Tokyo MX and BS NTV, while AT-X will also broadcast the new season. International viewers can watch the sequel through Crunchyroll.

A newly released main trailer provides a preview of the situations awaiting Sasaki and his unusual feathered companion, Peeps. The promotional video also introduces the season's new opening song, “Unbroken,” performed by the five-member dance-vocal group MADKID.

The sequel is expanding its cast with two new characters. Tasuku Hatanaka will voice Himegami-kun, while Yū Sasahara takes on the role of Eriel. Their arrival adds another layer to the already crowded supernatural world surrounding Sasaki.

Himegami-kun is a boy serving as Eriel's apostle in the conflict between angels and demons. Although Eriel possesses limited power, Himegami-kun remains devoted to her and continues participating in the battles. Eriel, meanwhile, is an angel who desperately tries to help her apostle despite her own lack of combat strength.

The production team is also undergoing some changes for the second season. SILVER LINK. remains responsible for animation, while Yūshi Ibe takes the director's chair. Yamato Ouchi serves as assistant director, and Deko Akao continues handling series composition. Saori Nakashiki remains involved with character design and chief animation direction alongside Yuki Sawairi.

The central premise remains focused on Sasaki, an overworked office employee whose ordinary life takes an extraordinary turn after he brings home Peeps from a pet shop. What appears to be a simple bird is actually a powerful sage from another world, giving Sasaki access to magic and the ability to travel between modern Japan and a fantasy realm. His new abilities eventually pull him into supernatural conflicts that are far more complicated than his former corporate life.

The returning cast includes Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki and Aoi Yūki as Peeps, joined by Akari Kitō, Rie Takahashi, Naomi Ōzora, Miyu Tomita and Inori Minase in their respective roles. The first season originally aired in 2024 for 12 episodes, setting up the increasingly chaotic mixture of fantasy adventures, supernatural battles and everyday comedy that the sequel will continue.

MADKID's involvement also gives the new season a familiar connection to the anime music scene. The group previously gained international attention through its opening theme “RISE” for The Rising of the Shield Hero. For Sasaki and Peeps Season 2, its new track “Unbroken” is expected to accompany the next chapter of Sasaki and Peeps' unpredictable journey.
